The Ostheimer sparrow is finished with non-toxic, water-based stains, in soft, earthy tones like browns and beiges, with subtle accents. This minimalistic approach avoids over-detailing, aligning with Waldorf principles that encourage children to fill in the story themselves. The ostheimer sparrow is coated with an organic oil that protects the wood while enhancing its warm, tactile quality, making it a joy to hold and play with.
