Gluckskafer toys are beautifully crafted following Waldorf and Montessori philosophies, encouraging children to discover creative play independently. The 'colourful shapes' wooden products range are coloured and painted with water based stains and left unlacquered to bring out the original characteristics of the wood. This ensures the beautiful and unique grain shows through. Materials are carefully chosen to be environmentally friendly and tactile, in creative but classic styles and colours. Blocks are made to be 'grippy', feeling slightly rough to the touch to avoid slip, and increase build potential, and making them easier to stack. The combination and thoughtfulness behind each design provides for truly open ended play, and a sensory rich experience for each child.
Gluckskafer’s mission began with the vision to bring traditional toys to children, encouraging creative play and natural development.
Originally started by Käfer & Partner, a small family business in Germany by a father of 6 children. This gave plenty of inspiration for developing a range of toys that supported imaginative role-playing. Glückskäfer is now owned by Nic Toys and complements the other ranges under the Nic umbrella (Nic, Walter and Bodo Henning).
